 Introduction

Bogra, a northern district of Bangladesh, a disaster prone area, where every year Flood hits in most of its upazilas i.e.Sonatola, Dhunot, Sariyakandi, Nandigram.etc. Thousands of families are sustaining their lives by struggling with disaster. Illiterate poor especially the destitute & deprived women are becoming more vulnerable due to illiteracy, unskilllness, having no access in decision making in their own family and society. A group of like-minded social worker even victims of gender disparity of the society formed/established this organization in 1999.

The “Program for Eco-social Development” PESD is a Non-Profit, Non-Political, Non-Sectarian and Non-Government Voluntary Organization especially a women development organization which is by nature a Gender sensitive, Pro-active and client oriented. PESD was launched in response to/address to women torture, reduce and elimination of destitution and deprivation of the women, disadvantaged and distressed class of the society. The supreme aim of this organization is to elimination of disparity between male & female in the society in all spheres.

 Constitutional Framework

Program for Eco - Social Development (PESD) has a general council consisting 30 members. Most of them are women from different occupation. It has 07 members Executive Committee, those who are elected from general council. Each after two years Annual General Meeting (AGM) being held.
